No thesisizing happened last night because some fabulous ladies and I went to see Juliette Lewis, Cat Power, and the Pretenders (Chrissie FUCKING Hynde). Click and scroll down for photos, courtesy of Brooklyn Vegan.
Despite the swelter, it was amazing.
I really can't tie it to the thesis, but there's something to be said for watching ladies fucking rock out. It's certainly inspiring. And oh so hot. Especially Chrissie Hynde. She makes you notice, and you notice that she hasn't lost a beat.
And we all love that sultry Chan Marshall. It would have been fun to see her when she was still a mess though. Juliette Lewis takes the award for most outfit flair. Homegirl had a ball, and it is a joy to watch someone do something they love. I wanted to be a rock start when I was... nah, I still do. It is a most satisfying fantasy.
Hit back with comments about Pretenders/Cat Power/Juliette (though prepare to be ended if you try and dump on the Pretenders, I really can't be understanding about that today). Also gonna open this up to comments about music that motivates - especially for writers.
